12th Art in the Workplace Exhibit

New sculptures, paintings, and photography adorned the atrium at McMaster’s Innovation park last week, as artists proudly showed off their artwork and mingled with the community at the 12th Art in the Workplace exhibit. The exhibit opening featured more than 250 art pieces from 120 local artists, whose art will be on display between August 1st to November 14th.

Launched in 2009, Art in the Workplace allows local creative community members to showcase their art at McMaster’s Innovation Park and receive 100% of the profits for their work. In addition to hosting three exhibits a year, Art in the Workplace also strives to support and encourage local art students, and works closely with Art History students at McMaster University, as well as with budding artists at Westdale Secondary School.

One of those budding artists is Karianne, a Westdale student who is finishing up her degree and hoping to pursue a career in photography. A current volunteer for Art in the Workplace, she’s learned a number of valuable skills which have helped her capture photo’s that have been featured at multiple Art in the Workplace exhibits.

You can check out more of Karianne’s work on her Facebook page at:
