CFMU is giving away free tickets for TWO concerts this weekend!
Here’s the who, what, when, where, why, and HOW you can get your hands on them:
What: Hamilton Benefit Concert: A special event supporting the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP)
Who: An Evening with Ian Thomas featuring Ryan Van Sickle and The Jim Italiano Band
Where: Hamilton Place Great Hall
When: Sunday, October. 20th. Doors open at 5:00p.m, show starts at 6:00p.m.
Why: Do you really need a why?! This is going to be an amazing night of music with all proceeds supporting the Cancer Assistance Program. Hamilton Juno award winning artist Ian Thomas is sure to impress crowds for the second year in a row, and Ryan Van Sickle and The Jim Italiano Band will round out a terrific evening of music.
The Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) is an organization providing assistance to cancer patients in the Hamilton area. In their 20 year history they have helped thousands of people undergoing cancer treatment here in the community. Programs include equipment loans and transportation to clinic and medical appointments at no charge. CAP relies on the support of the community to keep these programs available to those in need.

Concert # 2:
What: Matapa.ca presents a Cross-Cultural Collaboration!
Who: Featuring Terra Lightfoot (singer/songwriter), Irshad Khan (master Sitarist) and Zal Sissokho (master Kora – African harpist and singer)
Where: Molson Studio Theatre
When: Sat Oct 19th, 8PM (doors at 7)
Why: Three artists from Canada, Senegal and India will meet in a musical exploration of their respective traditions. This project was created specifically for Matapa’s World Music Series. The goal of the concerts called “Meeting Points” is to present audiences with a way of thinking outside the box when it comes to the power of music and the arts to build our diverse community. Sounds pretty great to us!
