CFMU attends Juno Award Nominations

Canadian Music. That’s a pretty great combination (if we do say so ourselves), and so on February 4th CFMU headed out to the JUNO Award Nominations to hear which Canadian artists would be up for a coveted award at this years ceremony in Winnipeg, MB.

Juno 1

A number of Canadian favourites topped the list for the most nominations, with Arcade Fire leading the way with six, Michael Bublé and Serena Ryder garnering five, and Drake, Hedley, and Tegan and Sara with four nods each. In addition to Canadian classics, a number of up and comers were also recognized, and 80 of the 177 nominees received nominations for their first-time.

The whole list of this years nominees can be found here.

Juno 2

The 2014 JUNO Awards Broadcast will be held at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Sunday March 30, 2014.

Next year, Hamilton will host the 44th JUNO Awards at Copps Coliseum.  The JUNO’s have previously been hosted in Hamilton in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2001.
