Ladies Learning Code’s Hamilton chapter is bringing the code bug to girls this Mother’s Day weekend with a mother-daughter workshop aimed at introducing the future-young-women to the ins-and-outs of HTML website building.
The event, which is open to girls age 8-13 and their mother or a mother-like figure in their life, is called Mother-Daughter HTML & CSS Hackday. The six-hour workshop will teach participants how to build a simple website using a basic template. It is a great introduction to coding.
The Hackday will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on May 10th at The Staircase, 27 Dundurn Street North.
Web developer Jacqueline Figueroa will be leading the BYO laptop session.
Ladies Learning Code’s Hamilton chapter conducts workshops every month with the goal of introducing women into the computer coding world- an industry traditionally dominated by men.
