Once again, CFMU has hosted interviews with the organizers of the weekend’s most exciting events. If you missed hearing about the Because Beer festival and Open Streets Hamilton on the air, you can catch up on all the details here on our blog.
Friday, July 11: 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 12: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Pier 4 Park, Hamilton
The mission of Because Beer is to “bring together craft beer brewers to showcase their product and their dedication to quality craft beer.” This event allows attendees to sample brews from companies they might not otherwise be able to taste.
In addition to many varieties of craft beers, live music will be performed and speakers will present on things like pouring the perfect pint, tasting beer properly and about starting their own brewing company. Food trucks will also be present, allowing visitors to eat and drink at once!

Open Streets Hamilton
Sunday, July 13th: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
James Street North
Open Streets is “dedicated to promoting active, healthy and inclusive lifestyles by temporarily transforming streets into a shared space for everyone to experience.” The July 13th iteration will be Open Streets’ 8th car-free event in Hamilton.
James Street North will be closed to motorized traffic but active transportation is encouraged (walking, biking, rollerblading etc). Local businesses will be open and the space will give visitors a taste of what a car-free area might feel like.
