The annual Gandhi Peace Festival had another successful event this weekend with hundreds coming downtown to participate.
The 5-hour festival featured speakers and entertainment and was highlighted by the Peace Walk which took participants around downtown Hamilton streets in an effort to raise awareness for peaceful, non-violent solutions.

The Council of Canadians conference also brought discussion and social action to the forefront this weekend.
The CoC advocates for clean water, fair trade, green energy, public heath care and a vibrant democracy. They do this through 60 chapters across Canada. This year, the conference as hosted by the Hamilton chapter.
Speakers and listeners alike flooded to Hamilton to participate in workshops and sessions under the banner theme “Forging Solidarity”.
