The 2015 What Next Festival of New Music has already begun, but will continue to take place in various venues in the downtown Hamilton area until Tuesday, May 5. The festival is an annual new music celebration and for its fifth year, the focus is on the theme of Alter Egos. It has been designed to feature the unique and non-traditional instruments that the talented Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra (HPO) musicians play, alongside their main orchestral instruments.
Ingie Metwally, the new Community Outreach Coordinator at CFMU, got a chance to sit down with a few representatives from the HPO to talk about the festival. Abigail Richardson-Schulte, HPO Composer-in-Residence and Festival Director, and Stephen Pierre, Principal Clarinetist, were both guests on the Morningfile.
