The Hamilton Children’s Choir is inviting you to celebrate 40 years with them! They’re doing it big this year, with four events filling the May 29-30 weekend.
Music Matters: Free school concert
May 29, Hamilton Place, 12:30 pm
This hands-on music concert offers a backstage experience on how the 40th anniversary concert, Can you feel it?, comes to life. Free to all schools, this concert will offer an interactive vocal session between guest artists Rajaton and TorQ, the HCC, and the 1800+ students already registered to attend.
The HCC needs your help to pull this off, and is doing some crowdfunding to raise $8,000 to help offset venue and guest artists fees. To donate, check out the campaign on Indiegogo. Check out this awesome video to find out why this is such a great cause, and why music matters.
May 29, Mills Hardware, 8:00 pm (Doors open at 7:30 pm)
This 19+ event is a fundraiser in support of the Hamilton Children’s Choir’s Financial Award Program. The band Gillian Nicola & The Radio Interference will be playing live, and there will be a raffle, snacks, and more! Come out and enjoy some classical 70s tunes – bell bottoms optional.
May 30, Christ’s Church Cathedral, 9:00 am
This reunion will gather choristers of the past 40 years, exchanging stories and fond memories during their time in the HCC. As a nod to the HCC’s legacy, founder Donald Kendrick will be guest conducting the alumni gathering for the celebration.
May 30, Hamilton Place, 7:30 pm
Music connects us, transcending age and boundaries. In addition to the family of HCC choirs, this inspirational performance showcases internationally acclaimed Finnish a cappella group Rajaton and cutting edge percussion quartet, TorQ. Music is a universal language and one of the most personal forms of expression. The HCC invites you to share and celebrate with them!
