Last night marked a wonderful evening for McMaster alumni and their family and friends. Nineteen different individuals were recognized for their achievements at the 2015 Alumni Awards Ceremony in Convocation Hall. After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the beautifully decorated Donaldson Family Marketplace, for cocktails and a delicious dinner.
Each year, a number of McMaster Alumni are recognized by their remarkable accomplishments and inducted into the Alumni Gallery. This year, the six inductees were: Dr. Michael Evans `93, Arthur Fogel `75, Colin Glassco `67, Margaret Houghton `74 and`75, Dr. Suzanne Labarge `67, and Andreas Souvaliotis `89.
The Arch Award is awarded to recent graduates who have made unique and interesting contributions to society, their local community, and to McMaster University. The 2015 recipients include: Daniel Bida `05, Lisa Brown `03 and `10, Clifton van der Linden `04, Jonathan Thon `04, and Shane Turcott `01 and `05.
This year Dr. Philip Wood was recognized for his outstanding service to McMaster University, by being granted honorary membership in the Alumni Association.

Distinguished Service Award
Peter Vance `55 and Margaret Vance `55 were the joint recipients of the Distinguished Service Award this year. They have each provided the Alumni Association with 60 years of service, dedication, and loyalty.
Albert Lager Prize for Student Initiative
The Albert Larger Prize for Student Initiative is awarded to current students who provide outstanding support, leadership, and community service to their Faculty, Program, or McMaster University. The five recipients of this year`s award are: Tristan Paul `15, Katrina Pullia `15, Elyse Rosa `15, Audrey Tan `16, and Victoria Tweedie `15.
