Tomorrow night, the boiler room in the empty Cannon Knitting Mills will be turned into a VIP event space for individuals from a cross-section of sectors, including realty, fashion, tech, design, education, music, and art.
They designed the Cannon Knitting Mills Exploration to foster discussion around the potential uses for and the future of all 110,000 square-feet of the vacant space.
The night will consist of cocktails, networking, and a deconstructed panel of speakers who will each offer their own unique vision for the historic building and the surrounding community.
Speakers include President and Partner of Live, Work, Learn, Play Rob Spanier, President of the FDCC and founder of Toronto Fashion Week Robin Kay, DPAI architecture and interiors founder David Premi, Supercrawl founder Tim Potocic, and architect and Dean of The Willowbank School of Restoration, Julian Smith.
Ingie Metwally got to chat with the Executive Director of Urban Land Institute Toronto, Richard Joy, on the morningfile today about what he hopes will come of the exploration. Click on the link below to hear the conversation.
