This Saturday, June 27, come out to the 3rd annual Day in the Park, put on by Give Proof to Our Youth!
Give Proof to Our Youth is an independent fundraiser created by Sherri Bonnaille and her son, Devon Rowe, to help local youth break through any barriers that they may face. They aim to do this by fostering a stronger and more well connected community.
Their Day in the Park event has grown from a mere 45 people, to over 200 in the past 3 years, and they hope to expand the community even further in the years to come.
The event has a little bit of everything for everyone, from rollerblading and basketball games, to live entertainment, face painting, and even a silent auction. The day will end with a Balloon Release, to honour those who have lost their lives on the streets, and the funds from the release will be going to Victims of Senseless Crimes.
Proceeds from the rest of the event will be going to the John Howard Society of Hamilton, which is a program that supports youth in making positive changes in their lives.
If you’re interested in partaking in the event, or volunteering, you can contact Sherri at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also find the group on Facebook.
To attend the event, head to McQuesten Park this Saturday at 1199 Upper Wentworth St., 12 – 8 pm – anyone and everyone is welcome!
