The Hamilton Fringe Festival is celebrating its 12th anniversary this year, taking place July 16-26 in downtown Hamilton. The Fringe was founded in 2002 and has always strived to break down traditional boundaries to participation as a non-juried festival.
With a total of 48 companies offering up musicals, dance, comedies, magic shows, dramas, and family entertainment in more than 300 performances, there is something for everyone!
Each patron is required to make a one-time purchase of a Fringe Back Button for $5, but tickets are pay what you can at the door and only $12 in advance online.
Check out their full show listing and schedule on their website to plan ahead. If you want to hear from the companies themselves, come out to the Kick Off Party on Wednesday July 15 at Citadel Theatre. More details on that can be found on their blog. You can also check out their website to find out more about the Fringe and Fringe history.
Executive Director of the festival Claire Calnan and co-directors and co-writers of Tasteless, a show that was developed as part of the McMaster’s Theatre & Film Honours Performance Series, Nick Kozij and Dylan Duarte, came on the morningfile to talk about all things Fringe including the Fringe Bus, Family Fringe, and the Fringe shows of 2015.
