After an nationwide search, 32 restaurants across Canada are up for the People’s Choice award in enRoute magazine’s annual Eat & Vote contest. Brux House is Hamilton’s only contender for the award, and was also shortlisted for the magazine’s Canada’s Top 10 Best New Restaurants.
Fraser Macfarlane, executive chef and owner of Brux House, was surprised and honoured when he heard the news. That being said, this isn’t the first time he has attracted nationwide media attention for his culinary talents. His first restaurant, Quatrefoil Restaurant in Dundas, was placed seventh on enRoute’s Canada’s Top 10 Best New Restaurants list in 2010.
Fraser came on the morningfile to chat with Ingie Metwally about the inspiration behind Brux House, their craft beer and food pairings, his favourite places to eat in Hamilton, and of course, the contest. Check out the sound clip below to hear the full interview.
And if you’re interested in supporting Brux House (and Hamilton), anyone and everyone can vote on the People Choice’s award up to once per day until the concert ends on September 30 at 11:59 pm ET. Simply visit eatandvote.com and cast your votes!
