Hack Your Community #HamOnt

Do you have an idea that you think can make a change in the community? Why not come out to Hack Your Community and see how far your idea can go!

Hack Your Community is a hackathon for anyone that wants to change their community for the better. You get two days to collaborate with others, meet mentors, and develop a solution to a city issue indicated by data provided by the Community Foundations of Canada.

At the end of the weekend, $5000 in prizes will be awarded to the teams with the most compelling and well-developed ideas, and the winners will have the opportunity to present their work at the McMaster President’s Research Showcase sometime on November 2-3, 2015.

If you aren’t sold on the event just yet, you should probably know that participation is free AND you get fed all weekend – Halloween candy included!

Intrigued? Visit the website for more information, and take a look at the agenda for the weekend. You can also check out the soundclip below for Ingie’s interview with Tyler Welch from Spectrum, an organizer of the event.
