Hooping It Up with Best Buddies

Best Buddies is a national charity that is committed to creating a more inclusive and accepting community by fostering one-to-one friendships between individuals with intellectual disabilities and students.

The pairs keep in contact with one another at least once a week by phone or email and participate in one-on-one activities twice a month. McMaster’s chapter gets all the buddies together several times during the year, and tomorrow are inviting the community to join in on their Hoop It Up event!

So drop by DBAC’s Sport Hall East Gym on March 22, anytime between 11 am and 1 pm, and see how many free throws you can sink in 60 seconds! It only costs you $2 to play and you can win some pretty cool prizes, including a National Grand Prize of $500!

Sarah Thornley of Best Buddies McMaster came on Morningfile to chat with Ingie about what they’re doing as a chapter here in Hamilton, how you can get involved in the upcoming year, and their event tomorrow! Check out the sound clip below for the full interview.

Follow Best Buddies McMaster on Facebook for more information on their chapter, or feel free to contact Sarah with any questions you may have
