The school year is almost over and to celebrate, the McMaster University Alumni Association, the McMaster Students Union, and the Student Success Centre (SSC) have partnered up to throw the 2nd Annual Year-End Block Party – aka, Light Up the Night!

This Friday night, April 8, thousands of the bulbs strung between campus buildings and trees will be lighting up the night, ending in a fireworks show at 10 pm.

Just like last year, there will be carnivalesque rides, games, live music featuring special guests Yukon Blonde and Darenots, and FREE food! The event will kick off at 6 pm with a Last Lecture and a Q&A by Canadian media icon, George Stroumboulopoulos, in Burridge Gym.

Best part of all, the event is FREE and all McMaster students and alumni are welcome! To find out more about #MacBlockParty, visit the website, or check out the event page on Facebook.

Anna Magnotta and Kathryn Hryb from the SSC came on Morningfile earlier today to chat about Light Up the Night, gearing up for exams, and accessing the SSC over the summer! Check out the sound clip below for the full interview.
