George Stroumboulopoulos on Community Radio

George Stroumboulopoulos is one of the most respected and well-known broadcasters in the country and last Friday night, a couple hundred McMaster University students got the chance to pick his brain at Light Up the Night’s Last Lecture.

The six-time Gemini award winning interviewer was interviewed by our very own Lindsay Hamilton – CFMU’s Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) from 2013-2014 and current CBC Sports News broadcaster – with several questions from the audience that followed.

Prior to getting on stage, Stroumboulopoulos took a few minutes to chat with current CFMU COC, Ingie Metwally, and CFMU Spoken Word Coordinator, Sana Khawaja. They discussed his views on community radio, the future of journalism, and why he’s Canada’s boyfriend. Check out the second clip below to listen to the interview.

* We apologize for the poor sound quality, the interview was conducted just back stage.
